- The following are questions asked by interested vendors as a result of this solicitation and the related answers provided by the FDA. As of 1/26/2015, 5:30 PM Easter Time, no other vendor questions will be accepted for the solicitation. 1. What is the serial number of the SP8 CONFOCAL UNIT? FDA Answer: Serial Number is 8100000552 2. Is there a previous contract for this equipment? FDA Answer: This is the first year of a service maintenance agreement. The contract date for the purchase of the scientific equipment was 8/02/2013 and the scientific equipment was delivered in September 2013 which included a one year warranty. 3. Who is the vendor currently servicing the equipment? FDA Answer: No vendor is currently servicing the equipment. The warranty that was included in the purchase of the scientific equipment ended on approximately 9/27/2014. 4. What was the cost of last year's contract and is this the same equipment as last year's contract? FDA Answer: This is the first year of a service maintenance agreement. The purchase cost of the equipment included a one year warranty. 5. Is this contract available for viewing? FDA Answer: There is no previous contract concerning a service maintenance agreement on this scientific equipment. 6. Is there a service history? FDA Answer: Not available. In the solicitation, the vendor who is awarded the contract must perform a site visit to determine if the scientific instrument meets the manufacturer's specifications and eligibility for the base year service maintenance agreement. If the contractor determines that the scientific equipment does not meet the manufacturer's specifications and eligibility for the base year service maintenance agreement, the contractor must submit a cost proposal to the FDA for labor, parts, and travel to perform work on the scientific equipment in order to meet the manufacturer's specification and eligibility for the base year service maintenance agreement. 7. Is all the equipment up and running? FDA Answer: Yes 8. Is it possible to provide model # and the age of the lasers? FDA Answer: See Question 1 for answer. All items were received in Sept. 2013.
