- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) on a sole source basis to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), 326 IBM Road, Williston, VT 05495, to support supplemental requirements related to the MK82 Director and MK200 Director Control (MK 82/200) production program. Orders may be issued to procure hardware (spares, ORDALT kits, or other modifications), engineering products for the evaluation of engineering change proposals, preparation and proofing of ORDALT kits, engineering and logistical studies, the modification and upkeep of shipping equipment, provisioning technical products for new construction DDG 51 Class ships, and technical manual maintenance. In addition to shipboard requirements, this BOA will also support equipment requirements at Aegis land-based test sites. As the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the MK 82/200, GD-OTS is currently the only qualified source that possesses the in-depth technical expertise, knowledge, resources and understanding of the system functionality necessary to satisfy the Government's requirements. Accordingly, the requirements described in this notice will be procured from GD-OTS under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). This announcement is published for informational purposes only. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact GD-OTS directly. Notice: The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
