- The USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station intends to award Purchase Order No. AG-3604-P-15-0007 on a Sole Source basis to ZORN COMPRESSOR & EQUIPMENT INC. (DUNS NO. 002958387) under the authority FAR 13.106-1 (b) -- Soliciting from a Single Source. The contractor shall provide a Rotary Screw Air Compressor. The specifications for supplying and servicing the new Air Compressor are as follows: • The Vendor provides a recommendation for the size and type (loading/unloading vs. frequency driven) of Air Compressor based on the supplied air audit and site inspection. • The Air Compressor operates at 460 volts/3 phase/60 Hz voltage and works with the existing oil cooler rated 171,000 BTU. The compressor features a full sound enclosure for quiet operation. • Parts (i.e. oil and filters) and service technicians are able to service the Forest Products Laboratory (One Gifford Pinchot Drive, Madison, WI 53726-2398) within 24 hours for emergency service. • Components -- Piping recommendations for the equipment are included - 400 gallon vertical wet storage tank with pressure relief, pressure gauge and manual drain valve - Air flow controller to maintain 80 psi - Energy efficient cycling refrigeration air dryer and mist eliminator. The dryer uses environmentally friendly R-404 refrigerant. • The Air Compressor will be installed in-house. The installation costs and mandatory minimum 10 year warranty are included in the quote. • The Contractor is able to perform oil analysis/routine maintenance for the Forest Products Laboratory to maintain the warranty. Vendor has stated how often this service will be needed and the estimated cost. The NAICS Code for this project is 423830 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The contractor is a small business concern.
