- Description
- Single Source Document Special Notice: The Bureau of Reclamation intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Lotek Wireless, Inc. for a requirement for radio transmitters to be used for passive fish tracking to evaluate passage effects of a proposed channel bypass structure to pass multiple size classes of pallid sturgeon and other fish. This needs to be evaluated to determine the overall effectiveness of the structure. Reclamation will evaluate passage of pallid sturgeon and other fishes from representative morphological guilds under the current intake design on the Yellowstone River near Glendive, Montana to accumulate baseline data to which post construction movements can be compared to. The equipment MUST be compatible with Lotek systems; it will be used in collaboration with other universities (Montana State University) state (Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks) and federal (U.S. Geological Survey) agencies currently using Lotek systems. These coded tags are compatible only with Lotek brand receivers. Lotek Wireless Digitally encoded radio tags offer a distinct advantage to researchers because each coded tag transmits a distinct, unique numerical code that differentiates it from all other tags, even those transmitting on the exact same frequency. This permits monitoring studies to be done on large groups of individuals using a single radio frequency. These are a VHF transmitter that is internally implanted in fish. Tag size is critical and is the limiting factor for which size fish can be used in a study. NanoTag Series Microprocessor-controlled coded radio transmitters. A very small, highly stable and field proven radio transmitter that's ideal for use with smaller fish. 0001 - NTC-6-1 (2.8g, 232 Day miniature transmitter) - Quantity = 20; 0002 - NTC-6-2 (4.3g, 441 Day miniature transmitter) - Quantity = 20; 0003 - NTC-4-2L (2.1g, 162 Day miniature transmitter) - Quantity = 60; MCFT2 Series Microprocessor-controlled coded radio transmitters for use with Lotek's SRX 400A / SRX 600 radio receiver family; includes models with motion and temperature sensors. 0004 - MCFT2-3A (16g, 1376 Day miniature transmitter) - Quantity = 50; 0005 - MCFT2-3FM (11g, 882 Day miniature transmitter) - Quantity = 20; 0006 - MCFT2-3L (25g, 2929 Day miniature transmitter) - Quantity = 90; The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. If firms believe they have the technical capability to meet this need, submit a technical capability statement along with business profile to Ms. Jennifer McCord at jmccord@usbr.gov within 3 days of this notice. Any information received will be treated as market research information towards future similar or same requirement. Quotations or proposals received in response to this notice will not be accepted since this synopsis is not a request for quote or a request for proposal.
