Description

The purpose of this Market Survey is to determine whether or not adequate competition exists and to determine the feasibility for small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses or eligible socially and economically disadvantaged businesses (SEDB) that are certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for participation in the SBA's 8(a) Program. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for the acquisition of 68 new spectrum analyzers to replace existing spectrum analyzers which are obsolete, have reached their end of life, and require replacement. The legacy spectrum analyzers were made by Tektronix. The spectrum analyzer is considered critical equipment required to provide spectral data and pulse width of the transmitted RF pulse. Pulse width measurements are made once every hour on the online channel. If the pulse width deviates from an acceptable tolerance an alarm is triggered. The alarm indicates that there is an impact on the ASR-9 ™s ability to detect aircraft or has fallen out of FCC compliance causing interference with other radars.
