- Description
- For regulatory purposes, the petroleum industry's exploration and production (E&P) sector may be required to estimate and report certain emissions for petroleum production tank batteries currently in service. In the energy extraction universe, emissions from the transfer of high pressure condensates from process lines to atmospheric storage vessels results in a bolus of emissions, called flash emissions, due to the change in pressure. E&P TANKS estimates flashing, working and standing losses and calculates losses using specific operations for each user's tank. Cited by the EPA, it allows the user to enter specific tanks condition information to generate a precise air emission report. The foundation of the software package is based upon rigorous thermodynamic principles or, in some cases, upon kinetic models well accepted by industry and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). E&P tanks is currently the only software which provides for the estimation of flash emissions from storage vessels.
