Description
MICC - Fort Belvoir Sources Sought Synopsis: This RFI is for market research purposes only. Responses to this Request for Information (RFI) are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Respondents shall not submit any proprietary information when responding to this RFI. Respondents shall also note that the Government will not return any information submitted in response to this RFI. The Government is not responsible for any costs incurred by respondents regarding any responses to this RFI. Respondents shall submit capability statements that clearly define the company's ability to provide the supplies stated in this RFI. This requirement is up to 3500 pair of Shoes, Men's, High Gloss, that range in size from 8D to 13.5E, for military personnel performing ceremonial burial honors for veterans. Shoes must achieve the greatest possible economic value, cost effective and delivery capabilities that are responsive to the needs of The Old Guard Ceremonial team. Specification: Shoes, military type, men, high gloss finish (promeric), leather sole and heel, box toe, welt construction. The shoes must conform to the following specifications: SPECIFICATION: Shoes, military type, men, high gloss finish, leather sole and heel, box toe, welt construction. CONSTRUCTION: Upper Material: Black shinny promeric of a minimum thickness of 1.5 millimeters. Quarter Lining: Leather Vamp Lining:Leather Upper Stitching: Nylon Quarter Top Binding: inch black vinyl Quarter Top Cord: Braided 3/32 inch black nylon Eyelets: 5 - eyelet style, metal eyelets no to be visible on the outside of the shoe - #115 blind nickel Eye Reinforcement: inch natural tape Insole: 3 inches iron texon with attached pli-rib Insole Insert: 100% polyester covered polyurethane foam, orthotically designed removable cushion insert with built-in arch support and axidyne elastomer absorbing heel cushion. Midsole: 4 Iron black rubber Outsole: 2 pair of 11 iron butyl treated leather outsoles laminated together with adhesive that is heat activated and pressure applied. Heel:5 quote mark x 6 quote mark x 4 quote mark robus heel, inside nailed with leather top lift. Outside edge finish: 1 coat of black edge ink and 1 coat BF672 ink. Sole Stitch: 7 cord black braided cotton Shank: 1 quote mark x 5 quote mark fiberglass (size 8) Bottom Filler:/8 quote mark closed cell rebound foam rubber Counter: Thermosaturated non-woven synthetic fabric Boxtoe: Polystyrene Welt:14/32 x 1/9 black vinyl storm welt encircling entire shoe, both sole and heel. Sole Extension:3-3-3 Lace:30 Inch nylon Upper Finish:Cleaned, conditioned, dressed and sprayed SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The contractor must provide a sample of product prior to contract award for approval, regardless if contractor has been used before or not. For RFI purposes, pictures and specifications of the shoes may be attached to any company documentation listed below sent to the below listed point of contact. THIS RFI IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool (FAR Part 10) being used to determine potential large and small business firms capable of providing the supply and/or services described herein prior to determining the method of acquisition for Shoes, Men, High Gloss. The NAICS contemplated for this requirement is 424340 with a size standard of 100 employees. SUBMITTAL INFORMATION: Please provide a capability statement addressing your company's ability to provide the services required above. Include only general capabilities relative to the requirement as this is not a solicitation and no responses will be considered as proposals.
