This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. This is not a Request for Proposal, a Request for Quotation, or Invitation for Bids. There is currently no solicitation package available. A requirement by the government exists for a tube squaring tool, which is a bench mounted machine designed specifically to prepare tubes for autogenous welding. To assess what Tube and Squaring Tools currently exist in the commercial marketplace, the Navy is requesting industry provide product descriptions of items that meet the following Government requirements: This tool will face/ square 0.188" to 1.0" outside diameter tubing with a wall thickness of up to 0.2". This tube squaring tool must use an OD Saddle Clamping System for holding and rounding the tube. The tool must accept its own torque through the Saddle Clamping System. The standard Saddle Clamping System requires a straight length of tube 0.875" long. Automatic clamping can be provided using a pneumatic clamping system. Speed control must be provided with a variable speed electric drive or pneumatic drive motor. Feed is to be provided by a lever action with a microfeed system providing an accurate controlled feed of 0.001". This tube squaring tool must be able to shave/ resize a V-22 Titanium Tube after the tube has been bent. The trimming must be able to be done in close proximity (0.875 inch) to the last bend. The Tube Squaring Tool must include: • 110V Motor Assembly • Wrench • Carrying Case • Operators Manual All corporate and proprietary information should be so marked and will be fully protected to the extent allowed. This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions.
