To whom it may concern; The Department of Veterans Affairs will purchase a Elevating Grossing Station from VENDOR: GOVERNMENT SCIENTIFIC SOURCE, INC. They are a SDVOSB and are the sole distributor of the Elevating Grossing Station manufactured by MOPEC. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code is 621511. SPECIAL REMARKS: PLEASE DELIVER TO HISTOLOGY 1175-1-W. ATTN:LESLIE ZUCKER. EIL:16H CSN WILL BE ASSIGNED UPON INSTALLATION. DELIVER TO: 1175-1-W A grossing station, MB 600, needs to be procured by MOPEC due to the capability of operating as both a standalone unit, as well as part of facility venting equipment. This product is manufactured by the same vendor as currently used equipment and should be of the same type of manufacturer. The grossing station is capable of elevating and lowering the height for customization in the laboratory and includes a specialized formalin containment system for enhanced safety processes. The Department of Veterans Affairs will proceed with the intended agreement. All questions concerning this requirement must be in writing and submitted via email to sean.powers2@va.gov. The original order was not previously issued under sole-source or limited-sources procedures. (FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(C) 5. Rational/explanation to support cited authority: Due to a structural collapse, the anatomic pathology area and related processes and equipment needed to be moved and are operating in a limited capacity. Due to the age of the equipment, relocation efforts and venting capabilities have been compromised. An Elevating Grossing Station needs to be procured that is flexible for height adjustment, superior in venting of chemical fumes and safety features for formalin dispensing and waste collection. VOSB vendor has provided comparable equipment for other purchases and is reasonable in pricing and quality. OFOC SOP Revision 03 6.
