Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Responses to this sources sought must be in writing. The purpose of this sources sought announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential small businesses interested and capable of providing the services described below. Documentation of technical expertise must be presented in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary functional expertise and experience to compete for this acquisition. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name, (b) address (c) point of contact (d) phone, fax and email (e) DUNS number (f) type of small business, e.g, Veteran owned (g) a capability statement or product specifications and shop drawings that addresses qualifications and ability to perform as a contractor for the work described below The boiler operation at the Phoenix VA Health Care System, Phoenix, AZ maintains a salt silo that is needed for daily operation of salt that is used throughout the Hospital. The salt water system is required due to the high level of hard water in the Phoenix area. A contract is needed for the bulk delivery of salt via tractor trailer for the main boiler plant salt silo at the Phoenix VA Health Care System. Monthly delivery of approximately 40,000 to 50,000 pounds of salt is needed to be discharged into the salt silo located at the facility's boiler plant. The contractor shall provide cleanup of any accidental spillage if necessary. They shall also provide a four inch coupling hose that is to be attached to the salt water silo to discharge the salt. The contractor will also need to provide all equipment, supplies, and tools necessary to complete the required task. The Government is not obligated to nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 212393 (500 Employees). All offerors who provide goods or services to the U.S. Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) located on the web at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ All interested offerors should submit their qualifications by email to: Robyn.Nussbaum@va.gov no later than February 23, 2015 at 16:00 CST. After review of the responses to this announcement, the Government intends to proceed with the issuance of a solicitation.
