Description

The solicitation for the Window Replacement Project at the Helena, Courthouse has been canceled. After the solicitation was issued it was it was discovered that the Helena Courthouse is a historic structure and consultation will have to be conducted with the GSA Historical Registry to determine the proper course of action to repair/replace the windows for the building. With this process there will be a significant change in the Scope of Work (SOW) that would affect any proposal that would have been received had this solicitation continued. Additionally, analysis of the windows structure discovered asbestos in the caulk surrounding the windows. The abatement of this would also have to be added to the SOW and would need to include pricing for this in any proposal received. The process we go through to conduct the historical analysis to assess the condition of the windows and determine the appropriate course of action could take a minimum of 30 days. Therefore we considered the cancelation of this solicitation appropriate, until a new scope of work is developed. We anticipate after the analysis, the project will be solicited once again on the FBO.gov website. Those firms who have took the time and effort to visit the project site and review the solicitation documents; GSA would like to thank you for your interest in the project.
