- This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 13 and FAR 6.302-2 for other than full and open competition. The Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground, Tenant Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, APG, MD 21005 has a requirement to procure the following items: CLIN 0001 Meggitt Sensor, Uni-Axial Piezoresistive Accelerometers Model 7265A, QTY:100 The intended delivery date for the item(s) is 6 weeks after receipt of order. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other will satisfy agency requirements, the Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) sole source order/contract to Meggitt (Orange County) Inc, doing business as, Meggitt Sensing Systems. Design and specifications of these Accelerometers are proprietary to Meggitt. No other sensor has been found with the same physical and electronic properties. There is no other single axis accelerometer that meets both the performance, electrical and mechanical specifications. Therefore, the brand-name of Meggitt Sensing Systems and the specified 7265A part numbers are required to meet the Army's needs. The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334519 and the Business Size Standard is 500. All responses received within ten (10) days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 2:00 PM Eastern Time, Friday, February 20, 2015. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
