- Description
- ****FOLLOW-ON TO CONTRACT W911NF-14-C-0079, AWARDED TO SCHAFER CORPORATION. The Army Contracting Command- Aberdeen Proving Ground- Research Triangle Park Division (ACC-APG RTP) plans to issue a full and open competitive Request For Proposal (RFP) (W911NF-15-R-0011) to support a joint effort commissioned by OSD to be a collaborative program between Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and the U.S. Navy (USN). DARPA will lead the LRASM Deployment Office (LDO) through technology maturation in meeting a FY 2018 first unit equipped requirement for the Long Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM). The contractor shall provide research and development for systems integration of the LRASM into the objective delivery platforms along with programmatic transition from DARPA to operational users on a highly constrained schedule. The contractor must be able to rapidly and effectively work with operational users, Government acquisition personnel, Government, and industry technologists to integrate, acquire and deploy the LRASM system. The contractor must have the specific knowledge and skills to conduct all required tasks, which include LRASM; advanced weapons system development support, deployment planning and support, platform integration, logistics planning, and system specific application of programmatic expertise toward development, integration, test, and acquisition. This is an accelerated acquisition with high priority effort and elevated risk. Offerors must demonstrate specific knowledge and skills related to the LRASM transition requirements of the Government team including DARPA, USN, and the USAF. Additionally, Offerors will have to demonstrate experience and skills with integrating very similar weapons systems into the objective platforms. A cost plus fixed fee type contract is anticipated as a result of this RFP. The period of performance for the contract will be 36 months (12-month base period with two (2) one (1) year option periods). The estimated time frame for RFP release is February 2015. No verbal request will be entertained regarding any information in this announcement. Written questions must be submitted to the point of contact for this requirement, Chantal Cornelius, via email: Chantal.R.Cornelius.civ@mail.mil
