- UPS Batteries: Descriptive Change, Amendment 002 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number "F2R1A14339A001 Uninterruptible Power Supply Batteries" is hereby issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) using FAR Subpart 13.1 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This requirement is being solicited on 100% small business set-aside, and is under North American Industry Classification System code 335911 with a small business size standard of 500 Employees. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-79, effective 15 December 2014, the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Change Notice 20150115 effective 15 January 2015, and the Air Force Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (AFFARS) Acquisition Circular 2014-1001 effective 1 October 2014. It is the responsibility of the offeror to be familiar with the applicable clauses and provisions. Clauses and provisions may be accessed via the Internet at website http://farsite.hill.af.mil. CLIN 0001: Deliver and install 200 new Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Batteries with a manufacture date of less than 6 months from the date of shipment. No used, like new, or refurbished batteries will be accepted, and the contractor is required to certify the manufacture date upon delivery. During battery delivery ensure to utilize a truck with a weight capable tail lift-gate or equivalent type lifting equipment with minimum lift capacity of 3000 lbs. Install the new batteries and conduct a post UPS unit functionality check upon completion and provide the customer with the report. Contractor will furnish all pallets and strapping material for the disposition of the 200 spent/replaced batteries located inside of the two pump rooms. These batteries must be disposed of as hazardous waste due to the lead acid inside of them. Batteries being disposed of will not exceed three (3) feet in height on the pallets when packaged for pick-up.
