Description

Please send responses by 2:00 PM EST on 24 February 2015. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT Notice Project Overview: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, is seeking potential firms that are capable of fabricating and furnishing (no installation required) two steel culvert bulkheads as indicated on drawings for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Soo Area Office located in Sault St. Marie, MI. All bulkhead steel shall be fabricated of ASTM A572 Grade 50 steel. Steel elements designated as fracture critical members (FCM) shall meet a supplemental Charpy Impact requirement of 25 ft-lbs at 10 F. Welding shall be done in accordance with AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code. Fabricator shall be certified under the AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) Quality Certification Program, and shall be designated an AISC Certified Plant, Category CBR (Major Steel Bridge) with a Fracture Critical Endorsement (F). The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 332312, which has a small business size standard of 500 employees. This is NOT a request for proposals (RFP). This announcement is for planning purposes only. In order to determine the extent of industry interest and experience in the requirement, interested contractors shall present the following information: 1. A statement of your firm's interest in the project, including the firm's name, DUNS number, address, and contact information. 2. Any socio-economic classification(s) (e.g., large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, etc.) as they relate to NAICS code 332312. 3. A statement identifying ability to complete this requirement as stated. All qualified companies are encouraged to respond. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this sources sought or Government use of any information provided. The Government will not pay for information or comments provided and will not recognize any costs associated with submission of comments. Estimated Award date and Contract Timeline: The contract will have a 365 day completion requirement. The estimated award date of the contract is May 2015.
