Description

The VA Palo Alto Health Care System has a requirement for two (2) full-time Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 6 month base period and one six month option period. Nurses shall be capable of performing all duties and responsibilities associated with all cardiac catheterization/trans aortic valve replacement (TAVR) /electrophysiology procedures and adhering to all Joint Commission and safety standards. General Description: The cardiac catheterization RN will participate as an integral team member to the multi-disciplinary cardiac catheterization team. The Catheterization RN will assist with equipment and provide any necessary support to the cardiologist during catheterization, trans-aortic value replacement (TAVR) and electrophysiology (EP) procedures. Additionally Catheterization RN will monitor patient status during pre and post procedure. The Catheterization RN will administer and monitor medications administered to the patient. Qualifications: a. Certifications/Degrees: "Current, valid, and unrestricted state license for Registered Nurse "Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificates b. Experience Required: "A minimum of two (2) years of intensive care experience "A minimum of three (3) years of catheterization laboratory experience including demonstrated competence and excellence in advanced nursing skills, ECG monitoring skills, hemodynamics, and performance in emergency situations, patient teaching, and patient/family communication. c. Preferred Experience: "Previous VA experience "Knowledge of the VA electronic medical record (CPRS)
