Description
The following additional information or clarification(s) are to assist firms with their submission to the Smithsonian Institution: Clarifications 1. This procurement is a "Total" Small Business Set Aside and only Small Businesses shall be considered. 2. The geographic location of the firm's consultants, who are closest in proximity to the Smithsonian Institution facilities, will be considered more favorably when evaluating the firm's knowledge of the potential project locations. 3. One (1) Original and Five (5) Copies of the SF330 are required. Add 1. After contract award(s), for any subsequent optional year (one through nine) extending period of performance, all request(s) for increase(es) in the Contract Pricing shall be based on the Bureau of Labor and Statistics Consumer Price Index (CPI) percentage increase for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U): U.S. city average, Washington, DC, for a 12-month period. 2. Minimum Insurance Requirements: The successful firm(s) will be required to maintain insurance policies with carriers that are acceptable to the Smithsonian Institution and the federal government, covering the term of the contract, and provide a Certificate of Insurance evidencing the following "minimum" insurance types and limits. Successful firm(s) shall require all subcontractor(s) to meet and evidence these same minimum insurance requirements: a. Commercial General Liability: Minimum per Occurrence Limit is $1M b. Professional Liability (to include coverage for errors and omissions of the firm): Minimum per Claim Limit is $1M c. Automobile Liability: (to include standard (ISO Form) coverage): Minimum per Occurrence Limit is $200,000 per person and $500,000 per accident and property damage liability with a limit not less than $500,000 per accident. d. Worker's Compensation which meets statutory limits of the jurisdiction where the work will be performed. Minimum Insurance Requirements may be met by separate, combination, or package policies if those policies meet the required limits and scope of coverage. Umbrella and/or excess policy limits may be accepted to meet the required limits and scope of insurance. The Smithsonian Institution falls within the purview of the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. §2671-2680). The General Counsel of Smithsonian is authorized to settle all claims against the United States (Smithsonian Institution) for damage to property, personal injury, or death caused by the negligent act or failure to act of a Smithsonian employee in the course of his/her employment cognizable under the Federal Tort Claims Act, as amended; and in some instances, this may be the exclusive remedy. The deadline for submission is extended to no later than March 2, 2015, 2:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time. Fax submissions will NOT be accepted.
