- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes, and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Responses to this sources sought must be in writing. The purpose of this sources sought announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified offerors interested and capable of providing the services described below. Documentation of technical expertise must be presented in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary functional area expertise and experience to compete for this acquisition. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name (b) address (c) point of contact (d) phone, fax, and email (e) DUNS number (f) Cage Code (g) Tax ID Number (h) Type of small business, and (i) a capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications and ability to perform as a contractor for the work described below. The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), 820 Chandler Street, Fort Detrick, MD 21702, is seeking potential qualified offerors to provide the following: 1.Capability of histology lab to process large bony samples (82mm x 40mm x 20mm) containing implanted stainless steel or titanium plates and screws. 2.Communicate with the Principle Investigator (PI) of the study to determine the optimal staining protocols to use. 3.Perform the dehydration, non-decalcification embedding, sectioning, and staining in batches or sequentially to ensure continuity of slides within the group. 4.Each slide will undergo a quality check to ensure the slide is of good quality and can be analyzed histomorphologically. 5.Each slide will undergo a standard histomorphological analysis. 6.Analysis of the slides will be performed in batches or sequentially to ensure the analysis is consistent between samples in the group. 7.A summary of the analysis will be presented to the PI along with raw data and the physical slides. 8.Completion of the analysis will be concluded in a reasonable timeframe (2-4 months). 9.Histology Lab must be: CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) Accredited CAP (College of American Pathologists) Certified 10.After the study is completed, the Government owns and takes possession of the slides and the remaining tissues in the embedding media. 11.Total number of samples: Approximately 60 12.Deliverables: Summary of histomorphologically analyzed samples All sectioned and stained or unstained slides Unused quote mark blocks quote mark of remaining tissue in embedding media The Government is not obligated to nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. No sub contracting opportunity is anticipated. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 611310 (Size Standard: $27.5 Mil.). Notice to potential offerors: All offerors who provide goods or services to the United States Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov and complete online representations and certifications in SAM.
