Description

This is a sources sought notice that is issued for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. An award will not be made on offers received in response to this notice. This notice is not an Invitation of Bid; it is a market research tool being utilized to determine the availability of source prior to issuing an IFB. The information requested for brand name items only listed below which are contained within the specifications and drawings. These items will be provided by prime contractor after award. The Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center (VAACC), is planning a project. The functional objective of this project is the addition of a power meter on the existing medium voltage (MV) switch and the addition of active filtering on Unit Sub Stations 2,3 and 4 (USS-2,3,& 4) to mitigate power quality issues reported during construction of the Chalmers P. Wylie VAACC and validated by subsequent testing by others. In advance of the filter installation, power metering of harmonic distortion at USS-2,3 & 4, shall be performed so that the benefits of filtering will be evident after the fact. Finally, it is also the goal of this project to verify that all overcurrent devices added for this project are properly set per the original design documents for selective coordination as required by drawings and specifications. The Contractor will provide a complete, functional, and usable system at completion of project. The intent of this notice is to notify interested parties of the "brand name item" listed below that will be acquired by the prime contractor after award from the manufacturers or any other company who would provide the brand name items only from the manufacturer. Manufacturer: Johnson Controls 507 E. Michigan St M-93 Milwaukee, WI 53202-5202 Fan control unit including actuator, sensor and programming. Description: The salient features of the fan control components and how they function with the existing Johnson Controls System are as follows: 1.The communication networking for the new system components shall be able to communicate directly with the existing Johnson Controls System with no gateways or other means of manipulation. 2.The extension of the existing HVAC system in this electrical room shall have graphics and operator's screen shall be accessed through the existing Johnson Controls System. 3.On-Off control, modulation signals, temperature sensors and damper signals shall all be viewable and operable from the existing Johnson Controls System.
