- Description
- DD Form 254 Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs) Initial Announcement The focus of this Program is to produce a filled, non-charring resin film that is compatible with organic matrix composites. The Contractor shall design, synthesize, and deliver sufficient quantities (fewer than 60 specimens, more than 20) to create test specimens. The specimens shall be heated and examined for their stability of their optical properties. AFRL will be testing the Contractor's specimens and providing raw test data. Following the first test series, a second test series will be executed incorporating material changes and lessons learned from analyzing the first set of data. Following demonstration of the two (2) initial test series, progress shall be reviewed. If the technology shows significantly enhanced stability over alternative technologies (relative benchmarks listed in Supplemental Package I), an option phase may be exercised. The option phase shall include technology maturation and risk reduction activities prudent to further identify material performance. The material shall be demonstrated on larger scales (in excess of 12" x 12"), shall be demonstrated in curved panels (radius of curvature <12"), shall be demonstrated to be compatible with organic matrix composites (including adhesion/processing demonstration), and evaluated for inspection, repair, and maintainability. Manufacturing maturation plans will be developed in Phase II in accordance with the AFRL technical point of contact (TPOC) and relevant stakeholders.
