Description
***ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR INDUSTRY DAY SITE VISIT*** This amendment is being posted to provide additional information regarding the site visit and contingency planning in the event of severe weather causing a site closure or delayed open status. Contractors should monitor the NIST Boulder campus operational site status. The NIST site status can be obtained from the phone number 303-497-4000 or the website http://www.boulder.doc.gov/cgi-bin/docstatus.cgi. Contractors shall prepare accordingly for weather conditions that may impact driving conditions and arrival time. The NIST site can be reach by public transportation, Regional Transportation District (RTD), via route BMX/BV/BX or GS stop Broadway - 27th Way. For other route information see RTD Schedules and Fares & Passes at http://www.rtd-denver.com. If the site status is "Open" the site visit will be conducted as originally scheduled beginning at 9:00am Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Closed Status Instructions If the site status is "Closed" the site visit will be cancelled as no access will be granted to the public. The site visit will then be rescheduled for Friday, March 6, 2015 beginning at 9:00am mountain time. Delayed Site Opening Status If the site status is "Delayed Opening" the site visit will still be conducted on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 but will start 2 hours after the authorized site opening time. For example if the delayed opening status states the site will be open at 9:00am then the site visit will begin at 11:00am mountain time. Meeting location & parking - Contractors must check in at the front gate visitor center. The meeting location will be the main entrance of Building 1. Contractors shall await escort to conference room 1-1103/1105 from Matthew Gomer. The visitor center will provide a map with instructions on how to find the main entrance of Building 1 along with parking information. Walking will be required. Contractors should plan that the site visit tour will be primarily done by walking the site. Expect uphill and downhill walking. Individuals requiring any special accommodations shall notify the Contract Specialist of their need by Monday, March 2, 2015 at 1:00pm mountain time. Additional site visits regarding this project are not anticipated at this time and the clause at FAR 52.237-1 Site Visit (Apr 1984) applies. This special notice is being posted in connection with Sources Sought announcement number NB194000-15-XX99 on FedBizOpps. Interested parties should reference the sources sought announcement information as it relates to this special notice. The site visit will be conducted to walk the space and offer an opportunity for communication between Government and Industry regarding the NIST Boulder Building 3 Renovation project described in the FedBizOpps sources sought announcement number NB194000-15-XX99. All questions received will be answered and issued to all prospective offerors. The site visit is scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 9:00am Mountain Time and will last no more than 3 hours. The address for NIST is: 325 Broadway Boulder, CO 80305 Contractors shall meet at the main entrance of Building 1 at NIST and await escort to conference room 1-1103/1105 from Matthew Gomer. Parking information and instructions to locate the Building 1 main entrance will be available upon registration at the front gate visitor center. Contractors shall familiarize themselves with the NIST Boulder visitor information http://www.nist.gov/public_affairs/visitor/boulder-visitor-info.cfm and the Real ID Act of 2005 requirements. Contractors should allow enough time for visitor badging procedure to be escorted to the meeting location promptly at 9:00am. Contractors arriving late will not be allowed access. RSVP is required for attendance of the site visit. Contractors planning on attending the site visit shall notify the Contract Specialist, Matthew Gomer via email at matthew.gomer@nist.gov no later than 1:00pm Monday, March 2, 2015 and provide the following information. 1. First and last name of all visitors attending as shown on their photo identification 2. Phone #: 3. Company Name: 4. Individually indicate United States citizenship (Yes or No) for all visitors Contractors shall be aware that weapons of any kind (knives, firearms etc.) shall NOT be permitted on the NIST facility. Contractors violating the security requirements of the NIST Boulder campus shall be prohibited from entering the campus. Any additional information or changes regarding the site visit information or instructions will be posted as an amendment to this FedBizOpps announcement. Interested parties are encouraged to visit this link regularly. All interested parties will be responsible to obtain related information or amendments to this special notice, if any, from www.fbo.gov. Any communication regarding this acquisition must be made in writing and transmitted via email to matthew.gomer@nist.gov and must identify the solicitation number, company name, company address, as well as the point of contact email address and telephone number. FAR 52.237-1 Site Visit (Apr 1984) Offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where services are to be performed and to satisfy themselves regarding all general and local conditions that may affect the cost of contract performance, to the extent that the information is reasonably obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award.
