Description
The Nebraska National Forest has a need for dam repairs for the following sites: REPLACED Site Descriptions with following: • Site One: Work involves the reconstruction of the breach in the dam. Work includes removing the existing concrete drop inlet and existing metal pipes, and reconstructing the breach. Work includes installing a concrete drop inlet and PE outlet pipe as Shown on the Drawings. Work includes constructing a three (3) foot diameter berm around the concrete drop inlet. Optional work includes installing a concrete drop inlet and concrete outlet pipe (instead of the PE outlet pipe). Work includes constructing a three (3) foot diameter berm around the concrete drop inlet. From Wall, SD, travel east on Interstate 90 to Exit 121, then south on Big Foote Road approximately four (4) miles, then east on 245 Street approximately 3 miles, then northwesterly on FS Road #7187 approximately 2.5 miles to the dam site. • Site Two: Work involves adding a section of similar CMP outlet pipe to the existing CMP outlet pipe. Work involves removing the existing timber pipe support and constructing a new timber pipe support. From Ft. Pierre SD, follow US Hwy. 83 south to Road 1806, turn east on Road 1806 and travel approx. 14 miles to the Presho Road, turn south on the Presho Road and travel approx. 5 miles to Forest Service Road 239, turn west through the gate and travel approx. 0.5 miles to the dam site. The use of bio-based products is anticipated in the performance of the contract. Information on Bio-based products can be found at: http://sftool.gov/green-products/8/miscellaneous The conference will be held: Date: April 7, 2015 Time: 9:00 AM MDT Location: Wall Ranger District Visitor Center, 708 Main St, Wall SD. Due to distances of personnel from site we are requesting all interested parties register prior to attending the meeting. Attendance is not mandatory. If no-one registers for the meeting, the meeting will not be held. All interested parties must contact Brenda Anderson and register by April 6th at noon. Contact information listed below. It is the contractor's responsibility to familiarize themselves with the normal terrain. You may Google: Nebraska National Forest - for information on roads, terrain, and other pertinent information. ADD Response to question received: Question: Does an incumbent exist for the Votrobeck Williams Dam Repair requirement and if so, could you please provide the vendor and the corresponding contract number? Answer: - Votrobeck was built back in the 1930's by the Soil Conservation Service. The pipe was installed in 1990s. No known work has been performed on this dam since then. - Williams Dam was built in the 1950's by the Soil Conservation Service. Pipe was installed 5-6 years ago, no known records exist for repairs, most likely work performed by Permitee.
