- Description
- The Regional Contracting Office - Bogota has a requirement to build new observation towers at Tumaco, Nari o, Colombia. The new observation towers will have an approximately height of 12.5 meters. The new observation towers shall be constructed of concrete masonry unit (CMU) blocks or reinforced concrete. At this location power, water, and sewer utilities are available but it is contractor responsibility to request and pay for these utilities. Contractor needs to coordinate with base and/or facility engineer to arrange for the connections if needed. The towers will improve perimeter visibility and security. They shall be located along the outer perimeter of the installation, at locations selected by the US ARMY SOUTH (ARSOUTH) Force Protection team and the Colombian Marines Base officials. Work executed by the contractor shall include but is not limited to: -Site preparation (i.e. cut, fill, level, drainage); -Design and construction of towers; -Provide and install access ladder, guard rails, and safety hand rails in towers; -Provide and install access door at the cage and safety bars; -Provide and install electrical fixtures to towers (i.e. inside lights,grounding, lighting protection, and spot lights); -Electrical infrastructure to provide power to each tower; and -Any other related works for the construction of the towers. The Contractor and their subcontractors shall comply with Colombian Safety regulations and laws. Where project activities are not governed by Colombian regulation, the contractor shall comply with safety and health requirements as established by EM 385-1-1, by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A complete and detailed description of the project will be included in the actual solicitation. Contract award will be conducted under the provisions of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 36, Construction and Architect Engineer Contracts. The prospective contractor MUST be registered in the System for Award Management. The solicitation is projected to be posted on ASFI/FBO nd the U.S. Embassy - Colombia contracting websites on 30 Oct 14 or thereafter. It is the responsibility of the prospective offeror to monitor the website for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any) or other information pertaining to the solicitation.
