Description

This is a notice of intent that the VA anticipates the issuance of a sole source contract to ECRI for services for a period of 1 year plus 1 option period. Descriptions of the services are provided below. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. The Emergency Care Research Institute's (ECRI) convenes an annual health policy conference on the use of evidence in healthcare policy and practice. The annual conference examines emerging topics on evidence-based medicine and evidence-based management and provides beneficial information on the use of medical procedures, devices, drugs, issues associated with patient safety, and evidence reviews by the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Evidence-based Practice Centers (EPC). The conferences are composed of speakers and moderators who are experts in their fields of medicine, behavioral, sociological, and other domains. This proposed contract will help support HSRD in planning a research agenda to improve the ability of researchers and managers to use the large national data sets in VA to examine critical questions about the appropriateness, effectiveness, and safety of specific treatments, tests, and innovations in care delivery.
