- WV-0150 - Supplier Data Sheet and Business Size Certification Form SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND PROPOSALS ARE NOT BEING REQUESTED AT THIS TIME. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF CURRENT MARKET CAPABILITIES. INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD COMPLETE AND SUBMIT FORM WV-0150, "SUPPLIER DATA SHEET AND BUSINESS SIZE CERTIFICATION FORM" TO THE ADDRESS LISTED BELOW. Any information submitted by respondents to this sources sought synopsis is voluntary and is not to be construed as a commitment by CH2M HILL B&W West Valley, LLC (CHBWV), nor will CHBWV reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in response to this notice. The proposed scope of work will consist of the following: Design and delivery of cost effective interim storage shield containers for one hundred & forty two (142) high dose radioactive waste drums. Existing containers/designs can be modified to meet the criteria below: Containers: •· Containers must be capable of shielding waste to <200 mR at contact and <100 mR at 1 ft. •· Total container loaded weight must be less than 40,000 lbs. · Container must be able to be stacked 2-high •· Container must be suitable for outdoor storage •· Number of drums in a container is only limited by container physical constraints •· More than one container design may be required and/or modular designs accepted •· Container must fit within a 10 foot-diameter foot print (rectangle or round) •· Container must be capable of being lifted by crane and forklift •· Container shall be top loaded and the lid must be able to be capable of being removed and placed remotely with a 10 ton crane •· Container shall have sufficient clearance to allow the internal drums lids to be placed remotely •· Floor loading of double stacked containers should be less than 2,800 lbs/sq. ft. •· Containers shall be designed such that the maximum critical heat flux on an interior surface shall not exceed 10 kW/m2 when exposed to conditions described in 10 CFR 71.73(c)(4). •· Containers shall be capable of resisting perforation when impacted by a 13,000 pound vehicle travelling at 15 miles per hour or when impacted by a tornado-borne missile identified in the following table : Missile Weight Cross Sectional Area Horizontal Velocity* Max Height Above Ground Timber Plank 4" x 12" x 12' long (dimensions are nominal) 139 lb 0.29 ft 2 85 mph 200 ft Steel Pipe 3" diameter x 10' long 76 lb 0.0155 ft 2 ** 50 mph 100 ft * Vertical velocities are taken as two‑thirds the horizontal missile velocity. Response Requested: •· Outline technical approach for container and/or availability of existing containers. •· Documentation demonstrating that your firm has the organization, experience, operational controls, technical skills, necessary production, and technical equipment to perform the proposed scope of work •· Documentation demonstrating that your firm has an acceptable Quality Assurance Program in accordance with NQA-1a (2008 with 2009 Addenda).
