- This SOURCES SOUGHT notice for planning purposes to target Veteran Owned Small Businesses and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses only. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP) - The Minneapolis VA Health Care System has a potential requirement for on-site Board Certified 3.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Anesthesiology Services. The potential solicitation would contain requirements for a 12-month base year and four 1 year option periods. During the base period, the contractor would be expected to provide 3.0 FTE/6,240 hours of clinical service with corresponding on-call coverage. Anesthesiologists shall provide direct patient care for the full range of anesthesiology services for operative procedures including: pre-procedure assessment with review of patient's electronic medical record and focused physical exam; administration of anesthetic agents; performance of trans-esophageal echocardiography (TEE) in cardiac cases; insertion of invasive hemodynamic monitoring catheters with ultrasound guidance; management of difficult airways using alternative intubating devices and advanced techniques in both emergent and non-emergent situations; administration of multi-modal pre-emptive analgesics; placement of nerve blocks, including interscalene blocks for post-operative pain control; intra-procedure monitoring and management; and post-procedure follow-up as appropriate for both inpatients and outpatients. Anesthesiologists may personally administer anesthesia or may medically direct CRNAs or Anesthesiology Residents in the administration of anesthesia. Training of ACGME Anesthesiology program residents and medical students as they rotate through the MVAHCS is a requirement. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 621111 with a size standard of $11 million. The solicitation is full and open and multiple awards may be considered. Offers will be evaluated on technical ability, past performance, and price. The potential procurement would be made in accordance with FAR Parts 12 Commercial Item and 15 Negotiated Contracts. Services are scheduled to begin on February 1, 2016 (or date of award).
