Description
CLAUSES AND PROVISIONS SCOPE OF WORK SECTOR DETROIT ENGINEERING SHOP/OFFICE A/C AND HEATING SYSTEM PART 1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION 1.1 The Coast Guard requires a contractor fully qualified within the field of plumbing and HVAC system installation and removal, to provide all labor, materials and equipment necessary to remove, and replace the HVAC system located at USCG Station Sector Detroit Engineering Shop. PART 2 SCHEDULING 2.1 The contractor shall perform all site work during the normal operation hours of 7:00 am to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday except during federal holidays. 2.2 Any deviations from normal working hours will be discussed with MK1 Curtis Tarrier and agreed upon by all parties concerned. 2.3 Those who desire access to the USCG Sector Detroit facility for bidding or work are to contact MK1 Curtis Tarrier or DCC Anthony Graziano. PART 3 PREPARATION 3.1 Contractor is responsible for any permits that may be required by Michigan state law and the City of Detroit, MI. 3.2 The contractor, his employees and sub contractors shall become familiar with and obey all station regulations. PART 4 MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT 4.1 The Coast Guard will not provide any materials or equipment. The contractor shall supply all materials and equipment needed. 4.2 The contractor's equipment shall be conspicuously marked for identification. PART 5 CONTRACTOR PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS 5.1 Replace current air conditioning and heating system with a multi split ductless system. Replacement system will maintain thermal comfort in engineering shop and engineering office 65 degree F. to 75 degree F. Install ductless cooling system in engineering carpentry shop able to also maintain thermal comfort 65 degree F. to 75 degree F. 5.2 All work shall be performed in a professional manner, in strict adherence to equipment manufacturer standards and recommendations, and adhere to current codes, ordinances and OSHA safety regulations. 5.3 All personnel employed on the project shall keep within the limits of the work and avenues of ingress and egress. Personnel shall not enter any other areas outside the site of work unless required to do so in the performance of their duties and have obtained verbal permission from MK1 Curtis Tarrier, DCC Anthony Graziano or the Officer of the Day 5.4 The contractor shall remove and properly dispose of all trash and debris pertaining to the contract work from the limits of government property, as well as adjacent affected areas. 5.5 Disposal of HAZMAT shall be in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations PART 6 ACCEPTANCE OF WORK / QUALITY ASSURANCE 6.1 Prior to the acceptance of work by the Coast Guard the contractor shall arrange through MK1 Curtis Tarrier and or DCC Graziano a review of work completed to ensure work satisfaction as well as proper clean up. Completed work shall meet the written scope of work. Any work that does not meet the approval of the U.S. Coast Guard representative shall be immediately corrected. This contract will require contractors to pay their laborers and mechanics employed under this contract no less than the locally prevailing wage and fringe benefits for the corresponding work on similar projects in the area.
