- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District is seeking System for Award Management (SAM) Database registered businesses that can provide the following supplies for the LOCK 15 MITER GATES. The North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) Code is 332312 with a corresponding size standard of 500 Employees. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. NO AWARD will be made from this Sources Sought Notice. This is NOT a request for proposal or quote or an invitation for bid. Particularly, the purpose of this NOTICE is to gain knowledge of potential System for Award Management (SAM) Database registered businesses. Technical Requirements: To be deemed technically acceptable, the offeror will be required to submit copies of the certifications listed below from the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) for all fabrication plants to be utilized for this project. All certifications must be current, with proof that the certifications have been continuously held for the past five (5) years. Intermediate Bridges certification with Supplemental Requirement F - Requirements for Fabricators of Bridges with Fracture-Critical Members OR Advanced Bridges certification with Supplemental Requirement F - Requirements for Fabricators of Bridges with Fracture-Critical Members AND P3-Sophisticated Paint Endorsement-Outside. For proof that the certifications have been continuously held for the past five (5) years, bridge fabrication certifications since July 1, 2014 shall be the same certifications as listed above. Bridge fabrication certifications prior to July 1, 2014 shall be: Intermediate Bridges certification with Supplemental Requirement F - Requirements for Fabricators of Bridges with Fracture-Critical Members OR Advanced Bridges certification with Supplemental Requirement F - Requirements for Fabricators of Bridges with Fracture-Critical Members OR Major Steel Bridge (CBR) certification with Fracture Critical Endorsement The offeror shall submit a list of completed projects demonstrating experience with fabricating hydraulic steel structures. Lock 15 Miter Gates Synopsis: Miter gates and spare parts (anchorage bars and operating strut arms) for locks and dams 15, 2, 12 and 15 Auxiliary, Mississippi River. The work includes, but is not limited to, fabricating, testing, painting, prestressing, and delivering new lock chamber miter gate assemblies and spare parts to the Mississippi River Maintenance Facility (Pleasant Valley, IA) and retrieving and disposing of the old miter gates from the original delivery locations at Pleasant Valley. Delivery will be required approximately 720 days after notice to proceed. A miter gate assembly consists of a left and right gate leaf. The base bid would be would be two gate assemblies (4 leafs). Each leaf is 31.5-ft tall x 60 ft long weighing approximately 135 tons. Options include 6 more gates (12 leafs): four 31.5-ft tall leafs, four 30-ft tall leafs, two 25-ft tall leafs and two 27-ft tall leafs. Options also include spare parts, which would include a minimum of sixteen forged and threaded anchorage eye-bars approximately 12-ft long by 4-inches thick as well as eight operating strut arms. Please include the following information in your response: 1. Company name, address, and cage code 2. Capabilities Statement indicating company can meet the requirements within specified scope. 3. A point of contact to include a phone number and email address. 4. Past Performance History of projects of similar scope (Federal Projects preferred) 5. Copies of Technical Requirements Certifications can be submitted, but are not required at this time.
