- INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The VA North Health Care System (NTHCS) intend to negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) for non-biological surgical implantable medical devices (i.e. stents, valves, implants, and grafts) with Cook Medical Inc., 1025 W. Acuff Road, Bloomington, IN 47404-9295. The Justification and Approval for this action will be included as a part of the award notice. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used and the resulting contract will be a firm fixed price contract. The NAICS Code is 339113 and the Size Standard is 500 employees. This special notice serves as notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive proposals, solicitation or a request for offers. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that a prospective offeror can fulfill the requirements of the solicitation and that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received the VA North Texas Health Care System, will proceed with the intended consignment agreement. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. Fax submissions must be followed up with a confirmation to the Contracting Officer via email at Rita.Anderson@med.va.gov or by telephone at 972-708-0807. Contractors must be actively registered in SAM (https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/) database to be eligible for award. Responses must be received by 31 March 2015.
