Moving forward, ALL information will be posted under this solicitation number. ******************************************************** 27 Feb 15: Universal Service Contract (USC-8) SYNOPSIS Solicitation Number: HTC711-15-R-W002 As a component command of the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) has a requirment to provide ocean terminal, commercial ocean liner and distribution services to deploy, sustain and redeploy US forces on a global basis. This contract will be to provide international cargo transportation and distribution services using ocean common or contract carriers, as defined in the Shipping Act of 1984, offering regularly scheduled commercial liner service for requirements that may arise in any part of the world, including service covered by the Jones Act. Interested contractors shall be capable of providing ocean, intermodal, and related transportation and distribution services to support their offered services. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 483111. The solicitation for this acquisition will be released electronically and will be available only on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBixOpps) website at www.fbo.gov. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be released on or about 30 Mar 2015 ********************************************************* 27 Feb 15: Attached are the meeting minutes from the Industry Day held on 19 Feb 15, the slide deck that was briefed, and the draft readiness language that was briefed. We are still working with OSD-TP for the clearance to send out the IDA Container Study mentioned at the event. ********************************************************* 4 Feb 15: USTRANSCOM Acquisition Directorate plans to conduct a Universal Service Contract (USC)-8 Industry Day on 19 February 2015 from 0800-1700. The Industry day will be held at the MITRE Corp. Building at 505 Corp Center Rd, Shiloh, IL 62221 (Corner of Route 158/Air Mobility Dr & Sibert Rd). Industry Day will provide an overview of the Universal Service Contract (USC)-8 RFP and an opportunity to discuss questions & concerns with the upcoming solicitation. The agenda for the event will be posted via FedBizOpps prior to the Industry Day. Due to size limitations of conference area, each Carrier will be limited to sending one representative to the meeting. If you plan to attend the meeting, please RSVP to Megan Isaak (megan.m.isaak.civ@mail.mil) no later than 12 Feb 15. The Government will not provide any reimbursement for attending this Industry Day general session. **************************************** 19 Dec 14: This is the Universal Service Contract (USC)-8 DRAFT Request for Proposal (RFP) Attached are the following items: 1. USC-8 DRAFT RFP 2. USC-8 Comment Matrix for you to provide feedback to us on the DRAFT RFP 3. USC-8 Milestones outlining the steps involved of awarding USC-8 In order to give you adequate time to review the RFP, please provide comments back to J.R. Oliver or Lisa Cahill no later than 19 January 15. Comments should be provided in the excel spreadsheet so they can be collated and the Government can then address each comment and provide those comments back to you for your review. This will give you the opportunity to see everyone's questions and the Government's response to those questions.
