****THE POINT OF CONTACT FOR THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS JOSH STILES/ARCS FOR ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS REGARDING THIS NOTICE PLEASE CONTACT JOSH AT JOSHUA.B.STILES@NASA.GOV.**** NASA/MSFC has a requirement for RFID Readers (41-100359-00), Antennas (36-100148-00, 41-100719-00), Sensors Tags (41-100336-00) and Reader Control Software (51-100176-00). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Phase IV Engineering, Inc. Market research showed that Phase IV Engineering, Inc. is the only provider of wireless temperature and pressure sensors which do not require batteries or wired power sources. MSFC requires compatible sensors and recording hardware in order to facilitate replication of tests between the laboratories and exchange of samples for long term evaluation. Sensors shall be able to withstand temperatures from 0-300 degrees Fahrenheit and pressures from 0-250 PSI and shall be chemically stable at those conditions with no significant reaction to the matrix materials. Capability to read data while samples are exposed to those temperature and pressure ranges shall be required. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. C.S.T. on 03/20/2015. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
