Description

The VA Office of Research and Development, Durham VA Medical Center Research Department intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Edstrom Industries Inc. pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, for the purchase of a Pulse System for light monitoring and automated watering at the Durham VAMC. The system will be used in the Durham VAMC Animal Facility. The Pulse System and automated animal watering system are upgrades to the current Edstrom watering system in place at the Durham VAMC. The new system must be compatible with the existing system, which was manufactured and installed by Edstrom Industries. The system provides the following: -Pulse Central Controller Panel with internal Power Supply, Modem, I/O block and Ethernet Switch. -Pulse Navigator -Pulse Training -2 Pulse Power Supply Unit for LON Devices -29 Light Sensor Modules -29 Advanced Light Module (ALM) controls for each room -145 Light Relays -29 Barrier Enclosures for light replays and ALMs -29 Membrane Switches mounted in stainless steel wall plates -2 Pressure Reducing Stations Model 8550-595 equipped with auto flush and monitoring features, a shut-off valve, and an injection port for system sanitization. - 40 on-line rack flush interconnect station each equipped with a detachable Kynar recoil supply hose with stainless steel quick disconnect coupling. -2 Interconnect stations each equipped with a detachable Kynar recoil hose with stainless steel quick disconnect couplings. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than March 24, 2015, (3:00PM, EST). Interest/capability statements may be sent to Travis Gibbons at travis.gibbons@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
