- Picture of office side chair The U. S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Headquarters Facilities Branch, Facilities Management and Engineering Directorate has a requirement for the upholstery of existing side chairs for several Mobile Work Force team room locations in the National Place Building, 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW 20005. CBP issues this Sources Sought Synopsis for information only to locate sources that are capable of providing the services as described herein. CBP is currently conducting market research to located qualified, experienced, and interested potential sources. The information requested by this Sources Sought announcement will be used within the Agency to facilitate decision making and will not be disclosed outside of the agency. This Sources Sought announcement is an advance notice for information and planning purposes only. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as proposals, nor will any award be incurred by interested parties in responding to this Sources Sought announcement. REQUIREMENTS: A. Furniture: Upholstery vendor shall pick-up thirty (30) side chairs with sled bases and re-upholster using Government provided (66) yards of fabric. B. Upholstery Fabric: The fabric is COM. (Customer's Own Merchandise) and will be ordered by the Agency for delivery to the upholstery vendor in conjunction with the chair pick-up. Any excess fabric shall be returned to the Agency when chairs are returned to the warehouse. C. Upholstery Specifications: The upholsterer shall match the exiting appearance of the chairs as closely as possible during the re-upholstery process. 1. Any discrepancies, conflicts or issues with this upholstery project shall be reported to the COR and the Project Manager immediately. B. Product Delivery: The upholstery vendor shall coordinate delivery and installation with the COR who will notify the Agency Project Manager and Warehouse Manager. E. Furniture Punchlist: Once the reupholstered chairs are delivered, the COR and Agency Project Manager shall meet the upholstery vendor at the Lorton Warehouse and inspect the chairs and note deficiencies. Any deficiencies items shall be returned for correction immediately. The upholstery vendor must complete all punch-list items within thirty (30) days of delivery and inspection unless otherwise approved. A list of all items not completed must be provided along with a justification for the condition of each item and a date when it will be corrected. Failure to do so may result in holding of final payment. Interested parties may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform this effort in writing to the point of contact identified below not later than 12:00 pm EST on March 26, 2015. Such information will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open basis, based on responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion the Government. Oral communications are NOT acceptable for responding to this notice. Responding sources shall provide a detailed capabilities statement stating their experience in providing the same or similar services described in this notice, a point of contact with phone and e-mail information, business status (socio-economic qualifications such as 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOB, etc.), business size based on NAICS 811420 and a positive statement of interest to submit a proposal. This request for information is not a commercial solicitation and the Government will not pay for any information submitted, or for any cost associated with providing the information.
