- Description
- j&A Brand Name Specific Notice of intent to purchase Brand Name Specific items under CHESS contracts. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers USACE has a requirement to obtain 5 each ~ Dell Precision M4800 Base, 6 each ~ Ultra Sharp 24" Monitor, 5 each ~ E-Port Plus, 240W Advanced Port Replicator, to procure laptop & computer accessories for the CEIWR-HEC Hydrologic Engineering Center located in Davis, California. In that capacity, the USACE has established security and compatibility for the computer networks. In order to maintain compliance with the requirements, the USACE conducted technical research and determined what equipment is allowed under the current network configuration. Currently the Government is using Dell servers at the CEIWR-HEC and has not had any issues with connecting and interfacing with the network. This standard allows technical personnel to concentrate on the hardware from one manufacture and eliminates the need for custom training from multiple manufactures. Standardization is crucial due to the ongoing mission requirements at the CEIWR-HEC. Only maintaining Dell equipment allows for ease during maintenance, repair, and replacement. Failure to provide this requirement would lead to significant communication and connectivity issues on these networks and will interfere with mission completion throughout CEIWR-HEC. We intend to purchase the required equipment by awarding a competitive firm fixed price delivery order through the Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) program which is the Army's designated primary source for commercial IT. In accordance with the CHESS ordering guidelines, Fair Opportunity will be given to all ITES-2 multiple award contract holders. A brand name justification has been approved and is being posted with this announcement. Delivery is required 60 days after the award of the order. Market Research has revealed that more than on ITES-2 multiple award contract holder can provide the require equipment. When this is true the procurement must be made from CHESS IAW AFARS 5139.101. Response to this announcement must be emailed directly to Alicia.S.Powell@usace.army.mil.
