- Photo looking down stream from culvert outlet Photo of road at culvert site Photo looking through the culvert This project is being done in collaboration with the Nez Perce Tribe Watershed program. The work requires removal of an existing 57"x 38" corrugated steel culvert on a tributary of the EF Imnamatnoon Creek and replacement with a structural plate arch culvert on precast concrete footings. The replacement structure is 90 linear feet in length and the excavation is considered a deep fill. The work includes, but is not limited to, clearing and grubbing, erosion control measures, structure excavation, roadway embankment, removing and disposing an existing culvert, compaction, riprap, installation of geocell reinforcement along the length of the foundations, roadway surfacing, furnishing and installing a 4'5" rise by 10' span Structural Plate Arch Corrugated Steel Pipe, and all other incidental items necessary to complete the project in accordance with the plans and specifications. This project is located in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest on National Forest System Road No. 5689 at Mile Post 4.50 in the Powell Ranger District in Section 7, T. 37 N., R. 14 E., Idaho County, Idaho. To reach the site, travel approximately 88.1 miles east on Highway 12 from Kooskia, ID. The Government's estimate is between $250,000 and $500,000. No formal pre-bid tour is scheduled. The site is currently accessible on foot or via a tracked ATV/UTV due to the presence of approximately.5-2 feet of snow. Interested offerors are encouraged to view the site prior to offer submittal due to the depth of excavation required and the resultant logistical challenges. It is estimated that the solicitation will be issued in mid-April. Construction work on the project shall commence no earlier than July 1, 2015. All in-stream work must take place between July 15th and August 30th and all work shall be completed by October 15, 2015. Original bid bonds are required. The acquisition has been set-aside for HUBzone certified small business concerns.
