- MUOS ANTENNA RFI DESCRIPTION: MARKET RESEARCH/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability of commercial or Non-Developmental Item (NDI) antennas that provide connectivity between the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) Satellite Communication (SATCOM) capability and the Marine Corps' Multi-Band Radio (MBR) II Family of Systems (FoS). The NAICS code for this effort is 334220. This market research/announcement is a Request for Information (RFI) only. If MARCORSYSCOM decides to purchase this equipment, there will be a Request for Proposal (RFP) published. It is our intention to request antennas be submitted with the proposal for testing purposes. During the testing the antennas will be destroyed. A. BACKGROUND: The MUOS capability is the next generation of tactical Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) Over-the-Horizon voice and limited data SATCOM capability. The MUOS capability will have increased capacity of legacy systems, higher data rates, improved link availability, and worldwide Global Information Grid (GIG) connectivity. The utilization of the MUOS capability will provide for an increased number of user terminals as well as improving worldwide GIG connectivity. In addition, the MUOS Satellite Constellation will support legacy SATCOM waveforms such as Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA), Dedicated, and Integrated Waveforms (IW) for SATCOM voice capability. The MBR II FoS consists of a man pack and three vehicular configurations. The base Radio Transceiver (RT) for the man pack and vehicular configurations is the RT-1949C(P)(C)/PRC (National Stock Number (NSN) 5820-01-585-2735) or the RT-1949D(P)(C)/PRC (NSN 5820-01-614-3307). The base amplifier used in the vehicular configurations is either part number RF-7800-PA150 (NSN 5895-01-579-6107) or part number 12084-0900-02 (NSN 5996-01-610-6641). A potential upgrade of the MBR II will allow the radio to be programmed to interface with the MUOS constellation waveform. B. USE CASES: MARCORSYSCOM is seeking information for antennas for the following uses: a. Dismounted Antenna that can be used On-The-Move with the RT-1949C(P)(C)/PRC and RT-1949D(P)(C)/PRC in a man packable configuration. b. At-the-Halt Antenna that can be used in temporary locations with the RT-1949C(P)(C)/PRC and RT-1949D(P)(C)/PRC when time is available to set up an antenna. c. Vehicle Mounted Antennas that can be mountable using a four hole bolt-on pattern or a mag mount plate. The Vehicle Mounted Antenna must be able to be used with the RT-1949C(P)(C)/PRC, RT-1949D(P)(C)/PRC and amplifier part numbers' RF-7800-PA150 and 12084-0900-02. C.
