Description
SYNOPSIS This project is located on the Pike and San Isabel National Forest and Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands at the South Park Ranger District, Lake George Work Center. The Work Center is approximately 35 miles West of Colorado Springs, Colorada at 140 Trail Creak Road, Lake George, CO 80827. The Lake George Work Center is the duty station for six permanent and typically eight to ten fire and fuel seasonal employees. The Work Center Office is a one floor building located at grade, is a 1.300 square foot long building on a stone foundation constructed in 1939 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The intent of the contract is to provide for the complete construction of the project as described in the contract. The project requires the contractor to be responsible for supplying all labor, materials, equipment, miscellaneous items, freight, delivery, and all necessary valid licenses and permits required to complete work identified in Division 1 Specifications, "Definition of Contract Items and Measurements and Payments". The project will expand the Lake George Work Center Office to provide two accessible restrooms and additional entry space. The building addition will extend the Eastern gable end of the office to the East and into the current site access road. The road will be shifted to the east to accommodate the expansion. The site has several features of historic and/or archaeological significance. A Forest Service provided archaeologist will be onsite during excavation phases of this project to observe and record any findings. Solicitation with Specifications and Drawings will be added to this combined Synopsis/Solicitation as soon as they are avaliable. *** ALL INQUIRES MUST BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY (VIA E-MAIL). ***
