- VA South Texas Health Care System (VASTHCS) anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed Price Construction Contract for the Replacement of MCC and Switch Gear in Pump Room at Audie L. Murphy Division (ALMD), South Texas Veterans Health Care System. The project number is 671-14-106 and is located at the VA Medical Center, 7400 Merton Minter Boulevard, San Antonio, TX 78229. Work shall consist of, but not limited to; supply and installation of all new materials, equipment and removal of debris to replace the Motor Control Center (MCC) and the Switch Gear in an area commonly known as the pump room at the Audie L. Murphy Division (ALMD) of the South Texas Veteran Health Care System (STVHCS). Replace the existing MCC and switchgear with new equipment and provide new concrete equipment pad. Work will include demolition of equipment, concrete, feeders, cabling and other items include on contract drawings and specifications. Be sure to demo all lines back to the source panel. Also make additional effort to follow phasing requirement to minimize down time to the medical center's utilities. The period of performance is 350 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP) The method of procurement shall be an Invitation for Bid (IFB) in accordance with Parts 14 and 36 of the FAR, with an estimated solicitation release date of on or about November 7, 2014 and a bid due date on or about December 9, 2014. The VA reserves the right to use only Federal Business Opportunities /FedBizOpps (FBO) website - www.fbo.gov via the internet, to provide notification of any amendments to this requirement and to post the subsequent IFB solicitation. It is the contractor's responsibility to view the FBO website daily for any amendments to this requirement and to obtain the IFB, Specification, and Drawings. This procurement is a competitive offer and the solicitation will be advertised as 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veterans Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), under Public Law 109-461 (38 USC 8127), offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The NAICS Code is 236220, with a business size standard of $36.5 Million. Probable Cost Range: Between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00
