Description
Request for Quote (RFQ) PROJECT DESCRIPTION Complete site investigation of the Gold Basin Slide and Campground in support of a risk assessment for loss of life and property from potential landslide events. ESTIMATED DATE SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED 3/25/2015 BID BOND / PERFORMANCE & PAYMENT BONDS Not required. DESIRED START WORK DATE May 2015 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE Total Calendar Days: 80 PROJECT LOCATION (DRIVING DIRECTIONS) The Gold Basin Campground and slide area is located on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Darrington Ranger District, in Snohomish County approximately 13 miles west of Granite Falls, Washington. The site is accessed by the Mountain Loop Highway at milepost 13. DESCRIPTION OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED Task 1 - Data Review and Site Characterization : Review existing data and reports to determine the scope of field investigations that would be needed to adequately describe the geographic, geologic, and soil conditions in the project area. Complete a written site characterization describing the geographic, geologic, and soil conditions present in the project area, including a description of the potentially unstable landforms in the area. Task 2 - Risk Assessment Analysis : Development run-out estimates in the event of failure. Estimate exceedance probability taking seasonal climatic conditions, seismic events, groundwater fluctuations, degree of saturation, or other factors with sufficiently well-defined distribution or probability of occurrence. If inundation of the campground is predicted as a result of run-out estimates, identify threshold conditions that will likely result in loss of life caused by a landslide. Task 3 - Final Deliverable : The final report will answer the questions stated in tasks 1 and 2, highlighting any imminent threats to life and property. If threats exist, offer recommendations on any immediate actions which are needed (e.g. relocate or close campground, seasonal occupation). Develop a hazard zonation map of the probability of landslide deposits reaching areas of the Gold Basin Campground. Provide a map of the campground showing size and capacity; identify the points of ingress and egress. REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) QUESTIONS Submit all questions pertaining to this requirement via e-mail to both the primary and secondary points of contact below. POINTS OF CONTACT Contracting: Brian A.
