Description
Synopsis The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) located in Washington State is issuing this synopsis identifying Huntington Ingalls, Inc. as having the resources for nuclear and non-nuclear tasking on naval vessels. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336611. There is no solicitation at this time. Therefore, this inquiry does not constitute a request for proposals. The period of performance is anticipated between June 2015 and February 2016. The submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary and the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. PSNS & IMF is contemplating awarding a two year, sole source contract action(s) to Huntington Ingalls, Inc. A Justification and Approval will be forthcoming. The contractor shall furnish the necessary management, material support services, supplies, and equipment deemed necessary to perform discrete and level of effort tasking on naval vessels home ported and visiting PSNS & IMF (Controlled Industrial Area), Naval Base Kitsap, Bremerton, WA. The contractor must be able to obtain security clearances (red badges) for their employees. A Level-of-Effort (LOE) is required for the accomplishment of specific depot-level repair, maintenance, and modernization for steam plant systems, electric plant systems, structural repairs, and propulsion and auxiliary ship systems associated with and supporting the reactor plant and associated reactor safety systems. This nuclear-related effort requires trade labor (refer to table below) that is trained, qualified, and authorized to perform maintenance on primary and secondary propulsion plant systems involving but not limited to Main Steam, Main Sea Water, Auxiliary Sea Water, Condensate and Feed, Reduction Gear, Ships Service Turbine Generator, Main Steam Valve Repairs, Main Engine Work, Engineering Space Grooming, Reserve Feed Water Tank, Other Internal Tanks, Heat Exchanger Repairs/Cleaning, Switch Board Inspect/Repair, Electrical System Repair, Precision Machine Work and Ships Air and Hydraulic Systems. For both nuclear and non-nuclear - Typical work performed during Selected Restricted Availability (SRA), Docking Planned Incremental Availabilities (DPIA), and Planned Incremental Availabilities (PIA) may include Shipfitting, Pipe Welding, Electrical work, Sheet Metal work, Insulating, Painting, Rigging, scaffolding, Pipefitting, Outside Machinists work, Inspectors for electrical, mechanical and structural and Radcon technicians as specified by the order.
