- REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION Cartridge, Impulse BBU-48A/B PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION The following constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis. The Government is performing market research to identify potential contractors who have the skills, experience, and knowledge required to successfully produce the BBU-48A/B impulse cartridge, NSN 1377-01-640-7205 SS27, FSC: 1377 for an anticipated procurement. Information received will be considered for the purpose of determining if responsible sources exist and to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total small business set-aside. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in increasing competition and small business utilization - specifically socioeconomic programs as defined by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 19 (including 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns). Responses should include small business status as related to the listed NAICS. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this sources sought. Any information submitted by respondents to this notice is strictly voluntary. Any subsequent information relating to this notification will be posted to www.fbo.gov. All responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis must be submitted to the point of contact listed above. This does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that procurement will be accomplished and is not a request for proposal or invitation for bid. Responding to this notice in no manner guarantees a contract will be awarded. KNOWN QUALIFIED VENDORS: Due to recent changes to the packaging instructions and the Technical Data Package a new Qualified Vendors List shall be created specific to the BBU-48A/B. All interested vendors, including those previously qualified on BBU-48/B, must respond to this Source Sought and apply for qualification in order to be eligible for potential future contract awards. PROGRAM DETAILS AND/OR REQUIRED SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS The BBU-48A/B has a different body case coating and packaging from the BBU-48/B. The new case coating is a nickel-tin type that is applied in accordance with specifications called out on the drawing. The packaging is changing from a tin tear-strip can to an ammo can with barrier bags. Drawings for the updated technical data package are available upon request.
