- Description of Work: This project is located on Forest Service Road 223 at milepost 19.45. Existing 30" culvert will be removed and a new 103" Span x 71" Rise, 46' Length, Corrugated Steel Pipe-Arch will be installed. Race Creek will be dewatered and diverted prior to any sediment releasing activities. This culvert has been designed for the 100 year flow rate of 68 cfs. Rip rap erosion control material will be installed to reduce erosion potential. The culvert is designed to accommodate aquatic organism passage with stream simulation material placed inside the culvert and matching stream gradients. The culvert also has metal baffles to help hold the stream bed material in place during high flows. Work also includes, placing riprap, rebuilding the road prism, replacement of surfacing along with all other work necessary to complete the project as required by the contract, plans, and specifications. NFSR 223T, MP 0.1 - This project is located on Forest Service Road 223T at milepost 0.10 in the Race Creek Campground area. Existing 30" culvert will be removed and a new 8'x8' concrete box culvert will be constructed. Race Creek will be dewatered and diverted prior to any sediment releasing activities. This culvert has been designed for the 100 year flow rate of 68 cfs. Rip rap erosion control material will be installed to reduce erosion potential. Cobbles will be installed on the upstream side to facilitate stock watering. The culvert is designed to accommodate aquatic organism passage with stream simulation material placed inside the culvert and matching stream gradients. Work also includes, placing riprap, rebuilding the road prism, replacement of surfacing along with all other work necessary to complete the project as required by the contract, plans, and specifications. Location: The first project is located in the Moose Creek Ranger District of the Nez Perce - Clearwater National Forests, approximately 30 miles east on Highway 12 from Kamiah, Idaho in Idaho County, Idaho. South on NFSR 223 (Selway Road) to milepost 19.45. The second project is just past the first and is located in the campground. Work is estimated: Between $100,000 and $250,000 Estimated Period of Performance: 7/15/2015 - 9/2/2015
