Statement of Work: Interventional Radiology - Microwave Ablation The ECHCS VAMC Denver - Interventional Radiology (IR) recently has undergone expansion of IR procedures that were not available to our Veteran population who would otherwise been referred to expensive non-VA care facilities. One of these IR procedures is an ablation to treat malignant tumors. The ablation procedure is performed by a physician specialist, or Interventionalist, who specializes in these types of invasive procedures. The Interventionalist is normally assisted by a special team consisting of a nurse and an IR technologist.
