Description
Special Announcement Delaware River Main Channel Deepening Project Reach B Rock Probings Notice to the Dredging and Marine Construction Industry: The Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PRPA) and Gahagan & Bryant Associates, Inc. (GBA) have contracted with Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Co. (GLDD) to use the drill boat quote mark APACHE quote mark to quote mark probe quote mark to the top of competent bedrock in the rock areas of Reach B (Marcus Hook Range) for the Delaware River Main Channel Deepening Project. The intention is to gather objective, reliable data pertinent to delineating top of the competent bedrock surface. These data are to be furnished to prospective bidders as part of future rock dredging project solicitations to supplement existing geotechnical data gathered by several other means (borings, sub-bottom profiling, resistivity, test pits, etc.). The rock probing work is to be accomplished under the observation of GBA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, PRPA, and dredging contractors with the capability of, and interest in, performing the Deepening Project rock excavation. GLDD will provide transport for observers to the drill boat at an agreed upon reasonable schedule during certain days, of the rock probing work. Site visits to observe this work can be scheduled by contacting Stan Lulewicz of GBA at 215-425-6283. The first site visit will likely begin on or about April 13, 2015 and the work is expected to be completed during the last week of April. Details regarding available visiting dates, crew boat transport locations and schedules as well as GLDD visitor protocols will be provided when visits are scheduled.
