- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan Engineering District (JED) is performing market research for a Design-Bid-Build (DBB) construction project titled: quote mark Renovate AMC Passenger Terminal, Phase 2, Misawa Air Base, Japan. quote mark This announcement represents a market survey that is intended for preliminary planning purposes only. This purpose of this notice is to identify sources capable of performing this project and to receive responses from those firms to assist the Government's acquisition planning. This survey does not constitute a commitment by the Government for any follow-on announcements, solicitation, or award. This is NOT a solicitation. The Government will not pay for any information provided as a result of this market survey. This market survey is intended for local sources only. Local sources are those sources physically located and licensed to conduct business in Japan. Firms interested and capable of performing this work are highly encouraged to submit a response (submission requirements are located within this notice). Information about the project: Project Title: Renovate AMC Passenger Terminal, Phase 2, Misawa Air Base, Japan Project Location: Misawa Air Base located in Misawa City, Aomori Prefecture, Japan Project NAICS: 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction Project Magnitude: Between 100,000,000and 500,000,000 Japanese YEN based on an exchange rate of 1 U.S. Dollar to 100 Japanese Yen. Project Description: The purpose of this project is to Repair the AMC passenger terminal. The project is expected to include the following tasks: 1. Replace counters with new, re-aligned floor plan to accommodate adequately sized and functional family lounge, departure/arrival area, and Distinguished Visitor lounge. 2. Repair administrative offices. 3. Repair interior walls by replacing wall covering, repair floor by replacing grout tiles, and repair ceiling by replacement. 4. Repair existing entrance area by replacing safely rails, removing rotary door and installing bumper guards. 5. Repair restrooms in the existing foot print to adequate size and increase quantities of urinals/stalls. 6. Repair drinking fountains, interior signs, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting systems by replacing with new equipment and fixtures. 7. Repaint exterior of building. 8. Repair roof by replacing. 9. Provide fire/smoke detection and suppression system to meet current NFPA codes. 10. Repair existing gate and fire lane between flight line and parking lot in order to provide effective access in case of fire. 11. Remove asbestos containing floor tile and mastic, arsenic containing gypsum wallboard and asbestos containing joint compounds. ===================================================================== Submission Requirements for responses to this Market Survey: Interested firms are requested to reply with the following information to assist the government in developing an acquisition strategy. 1. Describe your firm's capability and experience relative to the work. 2. Describe your firm's level of interest relative to the work. 3. Provide a list of relevant or similar projects, including project title, location, completion date, and magnitude. 4.
