Description
Federal Business Opportunities Information Date: 2015 April 3 SOLICITATION NO. W9128F-15-R-0032 On or about 16 April 2015, this office will issue Request for Proposals for construction of the Powerhouse West Terrace Drain Rehab, Phase II, Garrison Dam, ND. The solicitation will close on or about 19 May 2015. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED AND OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. A tentative site visit date will be issued with the advertised solicitation package. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) Description of Work to be Performed: Work will primarily consist of the removal and replacement of approximately 600 lineal foot of 12-inch perforated vitrified clay subdrain and 100 feet of 12-inch solid vitrified clay outfall pipe, installation of 150 feet of new 6-inch slotted subdrain, two-stage filter placement, and all ancillary work on the north powerhouse cut-slope at Garrison Dam near Riverdale, North Dakota. Work will also include the removal and replacement of 3 existing manholes with Standard 2' Dia. Precast Concrete Manholes, piezometer abandonment, and observation riser installation. Given the areas non-cohesive natural soils and existing ground water levels, design and implementation of both shoring and dewatering (to include pump testing) operations will be required. The area the work is to be performed is located along the west dam abutment within an approximately 10 to 30 feet thick zone of fine sand. This quote mark west abutment sand quote mark is subject to seepage pressure from the reservoir. It's critical that the contractor has experience and capabilities for dewatering and shoring as existing seepage pressures could result in uncontrolled washing/transport of the abutment sand at the base of the formation within the work area. The estimated construction cost of this project is between$1,000,000 and $2,500,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Bidders (Offerors): Please be advised of on-line registration requirement for Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) is now located in System for Award Management (SAM) database https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/.
