- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) FUME HOOD INSPECTION, CERTIFICATION, AND MAINTENANCE SERVICE FOR THE NEBRASKA WESTERN IOWA HEALTH CARE SYSTEM, NEBRASKA 1.This is a request for information (RFI) only. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a Request for Proposal or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to a contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Department of Veterans Affairs is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondents are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI, all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. 2.Proprietary Information, if any, should be kept to a minimum and must be clearly marked. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. 3.Description of Services. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System requires annual and/or semi-annual inspections, cleaning, and certification for Laminar Flow Hoods, Chemical Fume Hoods, Class II Biological Safety Cabinets (Type A and Type B), Laminar Flow Work Benches, Clean Rooms, and Barrier Isolators. Service will include emergency repair within a 24 hour period, maintenance, and recertification of the referenced equipment. The Contractor shall provide all parts, tools, test equipment, software, labor, travel, and equipment necessary to provide inspections, perform preventive maintenance, make repairs, and certifications of Laminar Flow Hoods, Chemical Fume Hoods, Class II Biological Cabinets (Type A and Type B), Laminar Flow Work Benches, Pharmacy Clean Rooms, and Barrier Isolators for the Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System (NWIHCS), which includes the facilities located in Omaha, Lincoln and Grand Island, Nebraska. The Contractor shall ensure the NWIHCS equipment functions in conformance with the most up to date published edition of the applicable standards including the NSF, NIH, EPA, Joint Commission, UL, OSHA, CDRH, and VA standards. The Contractor will be responsible to ensure that Contractor Employees providing work on the contract are fully trained, NSF accredited, and completely competent to perform the required work. Equipment used in performance of the contract by Contractor Employees will function in conformance with the latest published edition of the applicable standards including the NSF, NIH, EPA, Joint Commission, UL, OSHA, CDRH, and VA standards. 4.NAICS/Size Standard: 541620, Environmental Consulting Services, $15.0 Million 5.Summary. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY to identify potential sources capable of providing the required service and whether or not the requirement can be set-aside for small business or a small business subset. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. The Department of Veterans Affairs has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought.
