Description: This is NOT a request for proposal (RFP), invitation for bid (IFB), or an announcement of a solicitation as no solicitation package exists at this time. The request is for informational purposes only. No cost data should be submitted. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice or any follow-up information requests. Submittal will not be returned to the sender. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. NAVSUP FLCSD will utilize the information for technical and acquisition planning only. NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center San Diego (FLCSD) is seeking qualified businesses sources within a 30 mile radius of Naval Medical Center (NMC), Twentynine Palms, CA, that can provide mortuary Services. The mileage restriction is required due to transportation of remains to and from NMC Twentynine Palms; CA. Transporting remains outside the 30 mile radius would cause a delay in the preparation of remains for their return to family members. In accordance with the Department of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), the clause 252.237.7006 states that the contractor shall NOT subcontract any work under this contract without the Contracting Officer ™s written approval. This clause does not apply to contract of employment between the Contractor and its personnel. The services will include, but is not limited to processing or reprocessing remains, treatment of remains, dressing or wrapping remains, embalming and body preparation, clothing, casketing, transportation of remains and cremation. These services shall be performed on contractor ™s site. The contractor must observe and comply with all local, state and federal laws and regulations relating to the embalming, preparation, burial, and shipment of bodies. The œDRAFT Performance Work Statement is attached. This procurement is anticipated to be a firm fixed price (FFP) Requirement Contract and NAVSUP FLCSD anticipates issuing a solicitation for one (1) base year and four (4) one-year option periods for a total Period of Performance of five (5) years. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is anticipated to be 812210 œFuneral Homes and Funeral Services and the Small Business Size Standard is $7.5M. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to determine interest, capability, and socio-economic category of potential sources for the requirement. Interested parties are requested to address the following questions in the attached Market Research Questionnaire.
