Description

Justification and Approval for Single Source THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION ISSUANCE. This notice fulfills the transmittal of synopsis per FAR 5.203(a). GENERAL INFORMATION: The 502d Contracting Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) - Lackland, Texas in support of the 59 MDW & Hearing Center of Excellence located at JBSA - Lackland is conducting an acquisition for a Hearing Loss Simulator with software. Requirements under this acquisition will include delivery and all software/hardware items required for full functionality for the Hearing Loss Simulator. The goal is to have a fully operational Hearing Loss Simulator with software that complies with the following: Simulator System comes equipped with a wearable hardware unit that is mounted on a helmet or other type of head device. Delivery for the acquisition will be JBSA Lackland, TX. The proposed contract action is for the commodity for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Sensimetrics Corporation, 14 Summer St. STE 403 Malden, MA, 02148-3994; Cage Code: 34ZZ6, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15. The NAICS Code is 334510 (Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing) with the size standard of 500 employees. The requirement will be awarded as a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contract. System for Award Management (SAM) registration will be mandatory for this contract (see SAM website at https://www.sam.gov/index.html/#1). The solicitation for this requirement is anticipated to be released on or about 27 April 2015.
