Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Responses to this sources sought must be in writing. The purpose of this sources sought announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential small businesses interested and capable of providing the services described below. Documentation of technical expertise must be presented in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary functional expertise and experience to compete for this acquisition. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name, (b) address (c) point of contact (d) phone, fax and email (e) DUNS number (f) type of small business, e.g, Veteran owned (g) a capability statement or product specifications and shop drawings that addresses qualifications and ability to perform as a contractor for the work described below The El Paso VA Health Care System, El Paso, TX is seeking a vendor to provide Equine Therapy Services. The vendor should be located in the El Paso, Texas area of responsibility. The services will be used to allow 10 Veterans the opportunity to participate in 6 riding lessons to assist in their recovery from service related injury or illness. The therapeutic riding lessons will be held at the awarded stables and will be led by the staff of the therapeutic riding contractor. Therapeutic riding lessons are to be taught by a riding instructor certified by PATH, Intl., who is supported by a dedicated and experienced group of volunteers. The horses should have been thoroughly assessed to determine the demeanor and appropriateness as a therapeutic riding horse. The treatment for the Veteran will be established by the certified staff in conjunction with an evaluation performed by EPVAHCS staff. Objectives for the therapy are: 1)Increase Veterans self-esteem and confidence through therapeutic riding interventions. 2)Improve physical strength through therapeutic riding interventions. 3)Decrease stress and anxiety through therapeutic riding interventions. 4)Increase self-awareness and develop increased insight regarding their emotions through therapeutic riding interventions. The Government is not obligated to nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 621399 (500 Employees). All offerors who provide goods or services to the U.S. Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) located on the web at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ All interested offerors should submit their qualifications by email to: Robyn.Nussbaum@va.gov no later than April 17 at 16:00 CST. After review of the responses to this announcement, the Government intends to proceed with the issuance of a solicitation.
